Saturday is Go Red For Women Day – Everyone is encouraged to put on your red sneakers (or socks, scarves, skirts, dresses or ties - whatever you own that is red) and wear red to help promote women’s cardiovascular disease on Saturday. A group picture will be taken after the luncheon and shared on social media. All are welcome to wear red (not just women).

Women in Cardiology (WIC) Luncheon

Saturday, Oct. 26, 11:30am - 12:45pm  – “Why my specialty is the best!” Interactive panel featuring Dr. Suma Konety (cardio-oncology), Dr. Marit Thorsgard (interventional cardiology) and Dr. Jamie Lohr (pediatric cardiology) and moderated by Dr. Jane Chen (electrophysiology), Dr. Rekha Mankad (non-invasive cardiologist) and Dr. Katie Benziger (non-invasive cardiologist). Come join an exciting panel as they talk about what motivated them to choose their specialty within cardiology and what a day in the life of a female cardiologists is like. Come share your thoughts on why you think your specialty is the best, too. All are welcome to attend. 

WIC Social Hour and Trainee Poster Contest

Saturday, Oct. 26, 4:00 - 5:30pm – Come learn about Women As One (@WomenAs1) and network with the top female docs in the Midwest while viewing the trainee research abstracts and case presentations. There will be lots of informal discussions on all things WIC and free career advice for trainees. All are welcome to attend. 

WIC Morning Yoga

Sunday, Oct. 27, 6:00 – 7:00am – Come start your morning with Yoga lead by cardiologist, Dr. Mario Goessl, and resilience guru, Cami Smalley ( Yoga is a conscious body/mind relaxation practice that helps strengthen the body, improve balance, increase flexibility and calm the mind. No experience necessary. Extra mats will be available but bring your own if you have one. All are welcome to attend.
